Three people go on a smoke break and disappear for 30 minutes, one he to the bathroom and somebody has to go refill their drink. Uncensord games play this without asing teams. You just get to brag when you guess correctly. So gameplay is not interrupted by wandering adults. It's not heavy on the Uncensored like I expected, but my friends are pretty creative with their explanations, so it could get crude. My stomach hurt from laughing so hard and I was pretty sure the neighbors were going to complain cause we got so rowdy.
A group of year olds screaming with laughter And buy a pack of AAA batteries so you don't have to run around stealing them from remotes during the party like I did. Catch Phrase is a huge family favorite - always multiple generations playing at family gatherings - so I was curious about this new "uncensored" edition. Given the description, I was expecting a Catch Phrase version of Cards Against Humanity, which is not what I would call a family-friendly game. But this was not nearly as vulgar as I expected. With the exception of Entertained, there did not seem to be any theme within each category.
And while there were definitely some words that I would not feel comfortable using in a mixed generation family situation, most were more acceptable than I expected. My bigger observation is that this version is more generational - I passed on many words more because I did not know the person or phrase rather than the word or description being too vulgar. Also, many uncensord games had dual interpretations. Given that this edition is called "uncensored," a college student might describe the word "missionary" differently than me - I gave clues for a religious volunteer.
But if you like editions of Catch Phrase, I would definitely recommend giving this edition a try - just know that it does push the envelop a bit. There is only a few words that are even eye uncensord games. I was hoping for a cards against humanity type. No wonder this version is so cheap. Majority of the words are the same ideas as the original version, the only difference is now there's tougher ones like people that you probably don't know who they are.
Disappointed, not safe for work? We love the original Catchphrase, and we thought the uncensored one would be risque, cool, fun to play. Unfortunately it's not. The phrases are super awkward and strange. There are many pop-culture references, uncensord games sounds like it would good, but so many are obscure that even well versed teenagers have no idea.
Not fun to play. I'd return if we hadn't thrown out the packaging. Play with family, learn something. So the tick-tock of the timer going as people guess the word you're trying to describe was annoying but thankfully the makers gave you a way to shut that down hit the button twice and mutes. Anyway just as it says this version has some risque words in it. Nothing that would make you blush playing with your college friends at a party but definitely makes for an interesting and sometimes hilarious game when played with family I don't recommend with young kids around.
Anyway I was brave and played it with my parents. A Warning, they won't know what a word or phrase means and ask about it and then you have to decide in a split second whether to lie straight faced to your parents or confess you know what a mustache ride means and EXPLAIN IT. Also your parents WILL know some word of phrase you don't and then you'll really question yourself and wonder if you're as cool and hip and LEET or whatever kids are saying these days as you once were.
I described a whale tail as the thing that is at the end of a whale. That is not the meaning in the context of the game. Who knew? They did. It's catchphrase, so it's great. However, the "uncensored" is still PG for the most part.Uncensord games
